Yep, it almost doesn't hurt like a sonofa***** constantly anymore!

Yes her name is Helga the happy hot rod. I don't know who's happier, me or her!

Hey that's NOT a traditional robot... he's a billet clad fluffmobile chock ful of the latest technology... I'll bet he's even multiport injected with exposed IFS and disc brakes... ugly ones! um... yeah, you can see the digital gauges from here!

Now this is a traditional robot...:D

Sir, I love your ride, its going to be cl***ic when yur dun.
just thinking out loud here, you going to get much wobbling or jiggling in them things? -not that I have a problem with a little headlight jiggle, but thats a different topic.

Thanks for the kind words, guys!

Thanks Lono. They're pretty solid, the 36 draglink is a solid forged piece and with the tie bar between them there's no movement without serious stimulus. I'm sure they'll be fine. Time will tell.

Great-Thunder!!!...can I call ya thunder? Just caught your thread, man. Really nice build...tradition epitomized. Congratulations. You're kickin' my *** though, telling me that you sold all your other cars and stuff to fund this one! I've wanted to build a roadster for toooooo long, now. Have the major parts, but money is tight. Forced to change careers, been going to college. Have a couple other cars that I'm havin' a hard time bringing myself to sell. Sheeeeeet!!! What to do?? Oh well...I'll be working again soon, things will change. I'll be watching along with the rest of 'em to see you finish this, so for now, I'll have to live "vicariously" through you. God, I wanna build my roadster and drive across the country with you guys!!! I'm 52, and wanna do this before I get too old to really enjoy it. For you younger guys watching this and wanting to build one of your own...don't wait! Life has a way of gettin' in the way, and time has a way of slipping by. I aint kiddin', fellas. Hurry-up and make it happen for yourself. O.K., I'm done bellyachin' and preachin'. Again, congrats man, and lookin' good! May I say...very "thunderbirdesque"!!! :D - Rick

Thanks guys, eyebone, I'm a fan! Rick, the way I see it, you only get one chance to do what you really want. I've always wanted to build a nice roadster so, despite my reservations, I threw caution to the wind and made it happen. No compomises on this car! I don't want to be sitting on my deathbed wishing I had taken a different path.

Thanks Junior, you bet! No mercy, I'm gonna put a little mud in yer eye this year...:D:cool: DD RPU is lookin good, nice ideas on that ch***is!

Well after over a week of taking care of other ****, I finally scored a few minutes in the garage. I polished my heads and painted between the fins. Man they look sharp! I just need to polish the timing cover and intake and once my GMC Bubba prepped dizzy shows up, I can fire this beast for the first time!!! It's snowing here too, blah...

    Couple small things...

I mounted my 46 Ford tailights, I had to shorten the housings and mount the bulbs in from the side to keep from intruding on the rumble inner panel.

I've been busy polishing too. I have the intake almost halfway done, man this thing is a real p.i.t.a to sand!

And I bought some old chrome backing plates from **MCQUEEN** in the cl***ifieds. They were in great shape, but someone had welded up the holes and the centers to retain the bearings on a nine inch rear. Sooo, I ground out the centers with a grinding cone and redrilled them back to the stock pattern. ***bling bling***

Haha, no pink! John has a thing for purple cars. He bought a brown one, but without any purple in sight, he won't keep it long!:D:D yeah, that axle is REALLY nice. So nice, I almost wish it wasn't drilled... oh well, it'll have to do.;)
