Tie rod removal on that 56 ford

    I have all the nuts off the steering linkage for cannot seem to separate the rods from the the arms. Also separate the rod end from the spindle arm. Nothing's budging! ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1453589439.303813.jpg

    Jack car high enough (and firmly supported on stands, under side rails) and using a hand held sledge, strike the end of the spindle arm, (idea is to contract the tapered hole and the tie rod shank will come right out.)
    It's the factory recommended operation, NOT 'pickle fork'.

    Or, you can buy the 2 different pullers for 'pushing' them out.
    Strike/contract method has worked for me since the '50s, as demonstrated in a Ford tutorial.

    Per your illustration, the spindle arm on the left has an arrow from printer 'spindle arm'. Strike it where the arrow is pointing. (straight on)
