a few weeks ago, somewhere on the Hamb, there was a discussion about tilt front ends. I think it got started because of a pic of a Ford with one, not a thread by itself. Anyone recall where I may have seen that? A '57 forum member is looking for info. Thanks Rich
This thread has a few links. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/how-do-you-build-a-tilt-front-end-mechanism.988891/ Or this one. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/fibergl***-tilt-front-end.1214200/
I saw this and might be close, post #11 https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/57-g***er-questions.1213310/#post-13840349
Thanks guys, The first link Stig posted was the one I remembered. Ottoparts..........we both belong to two great forums!! btw, I was right up in your neighborhood a week or so ago...with the '57. Took 14 from Santa Fe to Tijeras.
Sorry I missed you and I hope you enjoyed the ride through the great scenery here. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Someday we'll connect. Yeah, beautiful trip.....one day drive, left before sunrise. Went west on 40 to Tuchemcari, north thru Las Vegas (NM) and the mountains to Taos, south along the Rio Grande to Santa Fe, then caught the Turquoise trail/14 and home from there. Car ran like a champ.
All those links look like g***er cars where ground clearance is not an issue. With a normal car the bumper tends to hit the ground pretty quick.
Not sure if I'm going to run the front bumper. But that's good insight to know as I have aerostar coils that I'll be using. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Loved this black 56 since I was a kid. Its been in the same family from new, originally a 4 door. Found these ch***is photos, maybe they'll give you a clue. all the same car as above, and has run the tilt front forever.
That is my favorite car hands down. I have a folder of every picture I can find on it. lol. I added the last one you posted and had the others. Thanks.
It's the greatest. I probably have an older magazine with pics of it in straight black paint, no graphics, will look for it when I am home again.
