I will show up with a trailer car to fill in the show for you guys.
Maybe someday I can get my car on the road again.....maybe I should quit braking the race car.

  2. Yeah that was me. Bangshift has the story along with our go pro videos. The spool and bushing flew out of the barrel valve binding the linkage wide open. The previous p*** we shut off at 900 feer and went 5.19 in the eighth and 8.3 in the quarter. We should have it back together in time for the race. Modifying the front wheels for brakes is the biggest issue i face. Its a lot of time consuming work.

beanno, I am planning on my 37 if I get it done. I just took the next 3 weeks off to get it done. If I get a chance I am going to race it, after all it is on my b-day. No better time to break something.
brian if you compete for the yahoo cup I think you will get it, but ill give my truck everything it has, until I break my new toy. Fingers crossed and time to get drivers exhaust done today.

I would love that! I'm sure you'll spank me again with your new gear and stuff but they sure looked good lined up and running together. I wish I could run some better tires on there but, I have to be able to drive mine the 400 miles back home, so I'm not even gonna risk breaking anything by running slicks.

Well the main thing is you were ok afterwards! Glad you are well on your way to getting it fixed. I couldn't really see what happened I was pitted tower side just before the 1/8 trap lights A buddy texted me this picture someone had posted shortly afterwards, looked pretty scary for sure.

  6. If you're close pull it to my place, we'll finish it up in the driveway, I am right @ the 150 mark and I do get to say yae or nay after all. :D :D :D

I still can't believe they left me with it, I mean who's fit of wisdom was that.

By the way I mentioned earlier that I was going to be in the Winner's Circle. You all are aware that everyone is welcome under the canopy correct? What would be ***s is if everyone showed up with their car for a group shot. Uh if you catch my drift.

I promise not to make a side trip this year. I'll be on time come hell or high water.

Note: tradition has me in the driveway with a wrench in my hand the week (or two) before the Drags. No charge for Contenders. ;)

Cars need to pre registered to race this year correct? No at the gate registration for race cars?

  8. That is absolutely correct. When @Ryan decided to trim the fleld so that everyone who brought a car got to race it became pre-registry only. This guarantees that if you show up to race you get in the gate. You don't just show up ready to race and don't have a spot on the roster.

Now I think it is understood but just to be clear, there is NO CHARGE to be a Contender for the YAY-HOO CUP. We shoulder what little expense that there is, sometimes we have to be creative. LOL But you must be registered for the HAMB Drags. That is between you and the Boss. You fill out the form, send your cash and he decides if your car fits the HAMB Drags criteria. If your car does not make the cut you don't loose anything.

Pre-registry is a WIN WIN for everyone involved.

    Edit damnit:

Just talked to the Boss, the field is not yet full so if you have not registered for the HAMB Drags git 'er done. I really do want to see everyone racing and making a Big Ol' '****** (or Pork' if you prefer) Grin®

My little gang meets at Pete and Jakes every year and yes, the California Kid and Super Bell car are in the showroom. Great bunch of guys, they pretty much let us mill around and look at stuff and ask stupid questions.

    See ya, -Abone.

Superbell coupe is not there all the time, only randomly as they don't own it.

The California kid, jakes coupe and now their new injected hemi coupe are in the showroom now.

They are located in peculiar Missouri just about half an hour south of Kansas City on the very road you'd take to Joplin from kc! You can see the shop from the highway.

beanno, I'm close, wiring should be here today, exhaust finished yesterday, alignment on Aug. 2nd. the only thing I have left to figure out is what gas pedal and how to make it work. Now off to search the H.A.M.B. for gas pedal and linkage ideas.

  24. sounds good. I spoke to Jason this morning he said I-49 peculiar exit behind the sonic. i should have asked him how far he is from the track.I need to see where I can park the trailer outside of the 150 mile radius. I have a 40 foot trailer that needs a safe place for a few days. pm me your phone number sounds good.
