Need to get started on the floor plans and trans tunnel for a '29 Ford tudor. This is my first A Model project so thought I would ask instead of trying to reinvent the "wheel". Any suggestions and pics on what has worked best would be greatly appreciated. Body is sitting on a Classic Street Rod frame with a 302 and T5 tranny. Original cross channels, floor braces and various other pieces were chopped out by some torch happy goon so I don't have a lot to go on. Thanks, BB "The person that says it cannot be done should not interrupt the person doing it"
Welcome, Buzzard. Always helps if you provide pics of what you have. But it sounds like you have no subframe at all. Take a look at any number of Model A build threads here, and you'll get a good idea of what you need and how the toe-board ties into the floor and kick-panels, firewall, etc. There certainly isn't one right way to do it, that's for sure. You could always buy a complete subframe, or build it. Brookville and others have parts. Your decision depends a lot on whether stock configuration will work for you, or if you have a custom setup such as a channeled body, extra high engine/trans position, original position seat or not, etc. Good luck.
A lot of good subframe work in this thread, with pics. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=685430&highlight=weld+subframe
