Its time to build me a new hotrod and I would like to share the experience with my pals on the HAMB..For those of you who know me(or don't) or haven't seen me at any of the great hotrod events we have out here in the east coast,I kinda put my car stuff on the back burner. Life stuff happens,I sold off a lot of my cars/parts to buy a new house and re-evaluate some things. After about a year or so away from it all things are finally settling down and I went looking for my next hotrod..Not far from me I found this cool gem..a 1933 ford roadster! thumbnail_3F232193-6E74-443F-93F5-0A7C55B69ED5.jpg thumbnail_32DBE43F-F19F-4B50-9528-E933B529161E.jpg
It needs some body panels massaged and some repairs but its a good start..Its missing a few specific roadster pieces that I am on the search for such as: B-Pillar brackets, top iron brackets and top irons..If anyone can help me locate these pieces, that would be awesome!..
Got the flathead running yesterday and it seems pretty sound..Plans are just to add some hop-up stuff to the motor and get it roadworthy..I'm thinking of removing the fenders/board and add 16" wires wheels or steelies.. ...reverse eye/de-arch the springs is a given, maybe even a drop axle.. I'm thinking I will chop the windshield stanchions and frame around 3"..

Very nice find! Can't wait to see what you do with it. Your coupe from a sedan build was one of the best ever.

  4. There is a guy of Fordbarn who makes a lot of the roadster only parts. He should have the B pillar brackets and top iron brackets

Chris and I might be thinking of the same guy that reproduces the brackets as I see him at Hershey every year.

You might send a personal message to HAMB member Elvis100 I got some pieces from him for my own '34 project and he had some of those B pillar pieces I think a while back, not sure if he's still got them or not but it'd be worth asking.

Great project car, really great shape! I wish I had something so complete to work with. The sedan to coupe project was great, I used it as a guide to do a '33 last year.

Definitely a score for a 33 roadster as they are rare in our area.

Wow George, that's a nice start. I saw the teaser in the other thread. Tell you what, just send it straight to me and save yourself a load of effort and time.

Working on the 33 when time permits..Doing an engine swap in a 65 Mercury Cyclone at the same time as this build.
Anyhow, The front floors had been cut out for what I can only assume was for on OHV engine swap. The car came with another original front floor so I cut and sliced it to fit..Still needs some dressing up,but I'm pleased with having somewhere to put my feet while I'm driving!.
Got hooked up with a nice set of repro B pillar brackets..Thanks continentaljohn!

I found a few bits on Craigslist yesterday..How about an original 32 Ford coupe seat! fits pretty good..even came with matching door panels, seat sliders and ratchet...Not sure if I'll use it on this car but it sure beats my alternative..Sitting on a milk crate! 32 parts 014.JPG

  29. Damn .... Craigslist around here .... isn't that !! Sweet !!!!
