Timeless and tasteful are the two "t" words that I like to use instead to describe that rod that just kills and fits here nicely.

Here's one I just found recently posted on Cool Photos by DOG427435 that is just that striking. It could have been built in any decade from the 40's on (technically, the cones date it post-57, but a very similar look was possible in the 40's by using small caps and beauty rings.

And yet, it doesn't really fit into any mold either. It's not even a Ford. My guess is that it was really built in the late 50's and back then, non-Ford cars were rarely used as rod material as compared to now.

Let's see some more examples of tr...uh...I mean..uh, yeah, timeless and tasteful machines for inspiration.

Looks to me like it *is* a Ford.......Model A, 1928-29...........but with a poorly done removal of the front visor and some other windshield in there... Has a lot of the old East Coast *look*....channeled but unchopped....... Has Model A rear bumpers......

Rear window is way too big for the *look*....

Sorry, but it looks nothing like a car would have been built in the '40's.......maybe late 50's would be a more apt description........

The cowl has been shortend too, don't know I kinda like some of the details on it.
As you say cuznbrucie, looks more late '50's rather than '40's.

AAAHHH! Now then THATS more like it, I much prefer thes ''A'' to the other one.The cowl looks better full depth and the screen looks more finished to me, but that just my opinion.:)
Oh yeah and the chop helps a lot too!

OK, maybe 40's is a stretch....a little too much rake, whites a little too narrow. I think it's a Chevy, though, look at the beltline bead.

It's not a Model A. The belt line reveal looks like a Chevy.

I stand corrected......upon further inspection I see what you mean by the beltline reveal.......does seem to be a bit different than a Model A.........Chevy is a good bet....

I still think it has a slightly awkward *look*........chocolate and vanilla, guys.....I still don't care much for it...

I like it, it has a neat look. The plates look just like a '56 tag I have.

MMMM, The belt does look different to my ''A'', the a pillar looks very ''A'' like though, anybody have a picture of a Chevy of that type of vintage?

Just found this picture of a '28 Chevy, looks quite a bit different to the one above, detail wise!

Hmmm, missed the NM tags. Looks like the pics were taken in front of our local Civic Auditorem (long gone). Think I'll ask some of the old guys, see if I can get any history.
