Okay gents. Finally got the Cambridge running well enough for the road. However, when I get up to about 55 she starts to stutter and it seemed to get progressively worse if I try to throttle through it. I can no longer turn the distributor clock wise as its gone as far as it can. By the timing light, it's close, but could still use another 1/4 turn of the distributor if it only had the ability.

    Any ideas?

    She's a 53 Plymouth with straight 6 and running 6V.

    Thanks!

Move all the plug wires over one space and try timing it again.

Do you know there is a small pipe plug in the head, above the #6 piston? If you take it out you can drop a screwdriver down the hole and feel the piston go up and down. This allows you to find out if your timing marks are accurate.

Will do. I was curious about just moving the wires. I'll check for accurate tdc first. Thanks!
