Hey guys so I am currently building a 1948 willys truck understandably its not a hotrod but I know there are a lot of guys on here that mess with timken axles and build quick changes etc. I love the old timken axle the way it looks its 10in ring gear and 5.38 factory gears. The jeep guys suggest I throw it away and put in a ford 9in. But I like to be different and it is just cool and old. Im curious as to if you guys know if one of the lockers from your quick change rear ends would work in this axle? Correct number of splines etc. I dont want to make it into a quick change axle. I read some people even made this axle into a full float. Just wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction into making this axle a little stronger not sure the stock axle shafts are up to handling 35in tires. Im only running a straight 226 so not a lot of horsepower. Just wondering if anyone had any ideas or links to a locking differential, upgraded axle shafts or what the guys stuff at winters would work on this axle.

Yep, there are lockers that will bolt right in your axle. 12 spline or 31. With that engine, you don't have to worry about the axles.
Don't call Winters. They are not interested in old stuff, especially if they didn't make it.
I can supply you with anything you need. We can even have it polished :p
