Also good ones if you’re making a list and this those are a couple years worth of the model A restorers magazine. There were even more Binders of them at the shop!
Still chipping away at the garage, got a new tool box and pulled the casters off to screech it under the work bench. Sticks out a little but that’s fine. I should have put the back side cross brace a little higher and on the back side of the boards and it would have sat flush and the board would have set over the little cement stub wall but oh well. if I ever take it apart or replace it I’ll change it then. I’ve got a few days of putting stuff away, a few afternoons of painting and a day of hanging stuff and I should finally be where I want to be and start back on the cars. the time off has really messed with me. But I know in the long run that having the garage squared away from the start is the smart move. this summers plan is to drive the 46 a ton and finish its list up in hopes of a trip to the gather at the roc in the fall. Hopefully while doing that I find my path forward on the A . Think I might go snag a few more remaining parts for it once this is squared away.
Your inspirational work helped me to get 16' of work bench cleaned off and hanging stuff pulled off the wall behind it. Hoping to get pegboard up this week. It's just the beginning.
I’ve helped clean a buddy’s shop more than once. But they always have a good sandwich on hand you got sandwiches?
Well, I still need an afternoon of moving stuff around but I think it’s about time to get wrenching again [ATTACH
Well, Well, You bait me into a point of no return in my shop cleanup and then when I am hopelessly locked in you switch back to working on hot rods. I just don't know what to say. I feel so alone.
You’ve still got a week or two to catch up. A day of work in the garage will take me about two weeks of 5 minutes sessions lol
Don't worry @Six Ball I'm right there with ya on slugging through the clean up. Nice job Timm, looks awesome!
Thanks Dave! Wanting to move or put something away once is really making it go slow. Or at least it feels that way, I guess moving it twice quickly takes just as long lol. think I’ve figured out how I’m going to store my metal stock and all the lumber I can’t seem to get myself to get rid of. I’m taking a detour to the yard shed to get that done but when it’s all done it’ll all be done…. Probably. hopefully we get a good rain Friday and it’ll wash the last few salt mountains away.
Only if your way was blocked and you put something away to clear a path. If you can walk through your shop it doesn't need cleaning.
Only problem is Scotty's wondering what the hell got beamed up to the Enterprise... ...So Timm, You need your funnel and screwdriver...I'll get back to you...over...
No update but saw these this morning and thought “threaded inserts? Shit thats not a bad idea!” Thought I’d share it
I’ve been trying to add weld nuts or make the part thick enough to thread on a lot of this build but the running board braces never even crossed my mind. Though I did swear a fair amount getting the saddle tanks and running board brackets all lined up and bolted together lol
