Tried contacting Tinys by phone and e-mail. 800 number is not in service and no response to my e-mail. Anyone know whats up with them?
I have no idea but I would not deal with Tiny. I ordered a frame from him and he was always as nice as can be but after 3 months of e-mailing him and calling hime, (gving me excuse after excuse) I gave up and called Visa to get my money back.
tiny tried the same thing with me he took my payment of 2500 and i got nothing in return he streched me out for about two months before i had to go to visa to get my money back so i would def not deal with him
Try 208-459-0327 you should be able to reach him, the 800 number is still out due to a contract disagreement with a service provider. (yeah, the phone company NEVER gets it wrong~ HA!) I know that info@tinys.. is getting slammed with e-mails for Christmas orders / questions and the guy answers them all himself in addition to actually building the frames. I see frames ship out of there weekly with no problem and they are absolutely amazing. If you want a frame in 24 hours that is not gonna happen, but if you talk to the guy and discuss the project, about the kind of timeframe you are looking at, then I am sure you will be more than impressed. The quality is outstanding, as well as the price. I have known the guy for forever and a day and he has been in this business for longer than some guys on this board have been alive. I dont post much on HAMB, as I like to read posts more than write them but I cant let a guy like Tiny get slandered like what I saw here. He has never been ran out of anywhere, nor have I ever seen him "ignore" a customer's project. That kind of crap is just lame to say, and not true. Please do not hesitate doing business with Tiny. I am sure others will be able to comment to his quality as well. He will be set up at Viva Las Vegas again this year but with the new Tiny's Chop Shop trailer. I have seen it at his shop and it is kool, so pay him a visit if you go.
I have heard it all before as well, Tiny owes me some motor mounts and I have never been more disappointed with a hot-rod guy. I call a couple of times a week about it and no one ever answers, returns messages, or emails. Really sad that he could be involved in the culture so much with magazines and customers, yet not be able to get any positive feedback from any clients I have heard of. I'd be VERY wary of doing business unless you want to end up in the same boat as the rest of us.
your right, he wasnt "run" out of phoenix,......lol...but he has no repeat biz in Phoenix,...coincidence?.....hmmmmm...... tiny did not build alot of good relationships in Arizona, facts are facts...... its a shame, ...i thought the guy had alot to offer.
GRSMNKYCUSTOMS- did you have some bad expirience with Tiny's Shop? You seem like you are some self proclaimed authority on the matter of Tiny's bussniess. Well as for me, I traveled to Idaho to Tiny's shop and it is everything a kustom shop should be. Tiny was a great help. He did explain to be about his 800 number problem, but I see that his shop number (which is gave me at will) has been posted on here more then once. When I got to Idaho I made my way to his shop and was very impressed. You can tell how Tiny got his name (large man). He knew everything that I was talking about. He took the time to let me watch him work (on my car) and show me what he was doing and why. He was extremely informative. Gave me some crash lessons on lines and forms of kustoms. Explained WHY there is a kulture. I hate to see people on here talking so bad about someone who was so upstanding and helpful in my kustomizing. I saw 'Naga' say that he will be at Viva this year. I plan on being there so I cant wait to see him again.
i am talking bad about him because he ripped me off i waited for over two months to get some progress and he gave me nothing he would not even send me any pics or answer his phone i was having to block my calls to get him to answer and i had all his numbers he has had sence june to get his 800 number straight and it still dosnt work he cost me alot of time on my project and if i would not have paid with a visa i would have lost all my money too never do business with this guy! unless u want to have threads like this and go through what i did
Well it must be a fact if you say it is, right? It kinda sounds like you have an axe to grind? I have never heard of him being run out, not having repeat business or whatever.. he is just a good guy and I dont like seeing misinformation put out there. I am not going to argue this point all day, I would say the same about anyone who I have done business with and I know personally. I live in Idaho and I was really happy to see Tiny move up here, as everyone here was and still is. If you want to go on trashing Tiny, I guess you can I just don't see the benefit. I only responded this time because it looked like you were addressing my comments. I would tell anyone to call him or visit his shop and decide for yourself.
I guess I have been "told how it is " - So whats the "posting count" before I can say which retailer I have had good luck with? I did not realize that this was a single opinion board and really, what do you want to know? I figured the basic profile looks sufficient. I don't even know you, nor referred to you in any of my posts, but you want to know something about me? Just ask. Since it has been made abundantly clear that I am a "newbie" and my opinons / observations are meaningless, you will probably have this thread removed, but until then I have to say there is not much discussion when everyone is just saying the same stuff.
Now I still feel bad about having to get Visa to get Tiny to give my money back becuase he seemed like he was such a nice guy, talked to him on the phone, tons of e-mails about what my truck was going to look like etc, etc. The fact of the matter is I waited 3 months, sending him multiple e-mails and phone calls. He gave me the excuse that the shipping company moved, then was closed, then shipped the frame to the wrong place. Last I talked to him he was going to go get the frame and said he would call me the next day. Waited 2 weeks and got nothing so I gave up and called Visa. I couldnt let $1500 go down and get nothing from it. I would not deal with Tiny again, sorry if that offends anyone but I feel that people need to know so that they dont get the same treatment. This is obviously a re-ocurring problem as there have been other people that posted in the thread with this same general problem so I dont feel that I am out of line saying this. Anyway....
Hey fellas, we are completely open to hearing feedback about shops and products on the HAMB. We have a long history of it... BUT, lets keep it mature man. Some of you fellas sound like 12 year old girls with a motive. A couple of things to keep in mind here: 1. Drama for the sake of having your voice heard lessens your credibility in most people's eyes. 2. Being a FNG on the HAMB is relative. If you've been here less than a year, you are pretty green. Post count means nothing. 3. Homeboy asked a question and wants an answer - not girl fighting... Note: I've heard from Tiny and he seems like a pretty damn good guy. I'll try to get him on this thread.
i would love to see him on this thread because he gave me the exact same excuses as he gave the other guys i would love to see what he says now
Well, if he does come on the HAMB he is gonna be given the chance to answer any questions and solve any problems you might have... So, I ask ya to keep your head on straight. I'm here to help.
Tiny is a stand up guy and a good friend. He'd never take your money and run. Look guys, sometimes its a bitch when you are the only employee and you've got 8,000 things going on at once... Give him a call and leave a message. I'm sure he'll get back to ya as soon as he can.
Thanks for all the replies. Didn't mean to start anything. Now that I have a phone # I can try to take care of my business.
Just out of curiousity, why in the hell would you order a frame from a guy 2000 miles away? I know if I was having a frame built, it'd be local so I could see the damn thing before I paid for it.
there were a couple of threads that went to more than two pages bashing vern tardel that were similar.. we at vern's are a two/three man operation i dunno' how many folks tiny employes but we do the best we can with what we have... we are not jegs, summit or even speedy's...we're small, we love what we do and share it with the gp..as for the credit card thing if tiny uses paypal as we at vern's do, paypal 'holds' it, the money is not taken and spent by us until your order goes out... it sits in some electronic, digital limbo until we ship...don't know if this is how tiny is set up but hopefully this will shed some light on the small shop shipping dilemma... nic
Ive seen ads for tiny's shop and a frame that he sends you in pieces so that you can weld it together yourself for $200. Has anyone bought one of these?
Customer service, customer service, customer service. Sometimes tough to do but most important for any business.!
tinys a stand up guy. as being in the retail business for some time, i can garantee you are going to have some deals that go sour for one reason or another. he's done work for me, and im completely satisfied.
