second on the wd40. spray on to rusty area on chrome, let sit a day or two and wipe off.

  4. I'm surprised no one has mentioned Flitz. Best results I've had yet.

  5. Nope its not, not if it is chrome or nickle plate (which is rock hard). SOS pads have polish in them and the steel wool (which is ultra fine) rides on a film of polish. The polish is what does the work.

Collinite insulator wax is the best, longest lasting wax I have ever used. Highly recommend their products.

I've also read ketchup and aluminum foil. I've never tried it, but I'm curious.

For beater quality stuff, I soak parts overnight in white vinegar .
An easy scrub and a rinse in a soda water solution to neutralize.
    The difference is dramatic.
Then I shoot it with a "...goes on clear, turns to black" rust converter primer
(does not discolor the good chrome).

    Before....and after!

  12. never use steel wool, use brass, it is softer than chrome, will not scratch.

I can see how CocaCola works because it has Phosphoric acid in it but how does the aluminum foil not scratch the chrome? Hmm i may need to try this
