I have been looking into gold leaf applied to large expanses of metal like dashes or air cleaners.
    • Does anyone have any experience spraying a 2 part clear over the top.
    • If so how much is required to hide the glue and leaf and still allow for sanding.
    • I don't want to burnish the leaf once its on I was going to use a variegated leaf book to give it some visual texture. So big 1x1 foot sheets and go to town or smaller sheets on large surfaces like say a air cleaner.
Has anybody done this over large areas. I have seen ceilings in person that look good from say 6 feet back but what about up close like say a dash insert or gauge surrounds.
