tips on installing a Ford 5.0 & five speed in a Shoebox Ford

    hydraulic slave cylinder , here are pics of the pedal assembly by fatmans fabrications, slave cly and throwout bearing fairly std stuff but had to find a throwout tha had a bleed screw in it as the throw out was lowest piont in system

    Got sidetracked, house and other projects, and switched gears, working on my 38 Chevrolet that I have had since the 70's, looks like the 49 will be a winter project, no one told me that retirement was so busy:)

  6. I swapped out the inline six for a 1984-5.0 302 w/t 5 speed in our '54 Ford Wagon.

    As someone else posted the tail shaft on the Ford transmission can be swaped out for a S-10 tail shaft.

    I used the transmission without the alteration,, HRP

    In this photo the shifter is in reverse,,close to the set but doesn't touch it.

    Hotrodprimer, was that a mustang t5 trans? No s10 tail shaft? I was wondering if you had any other pictures
