Not sure what it is, but it appears to have a broken upper kingpin boss.

I'd say that it had been part of a home made trailer for a number of years and someone cut the spindle in two with a cut off disk to get it off the axle. Probably to save the axle. You can see where they took a torch to the brake drum that was probably stamped steel like a lot of early Ford drums were to only have the hub. A look at the other side will help guys tell more of what it is or was.

It looks like a six lug wheel so it was probably Chevrolet or that is the direction I would look in. What is the wheel diameter?

iphone pics o side.jpg thanks guys
you guys r good! yes it is a six bolt rim. yes the top of the kingpin boss is broke. i thought it was factory split, but i looked again, and it was cut to remove it. yes it had been a 2 wheeled torch cart. size is 5.25-5.5-17. here is a pic of other side.

A torch cart with wheels that big would be handy for cutting parts back in the woods or over the cliff. Better put those wheels back to their proper use.

  6. what were you planning to use them on? in your first post you said something about an IH pickup

not exactly sure of the year of the truck. i think late 30s to early 40s
the front axle is just tacked in place. i found the cab upside down in my bush when i moved here. it was is a mess, so i chopped it 6" front and 5" back of cab. still lots to do

The wires on the wheel are welded, so it is not a Chrysler product wheel.

A little hunting shows that they should be proper for 34/36 Chevrolet Masters and trucks.
