Morning Folks! Wanted to touch base and see what your thoughts are on ideal tire pressures. Tire max is 35, and I’m running 25psi all around. Cruised around yesterday and it felt all right, maybe a little “squishy”. what’s your guys’s methods for finding the ideal tire pressure for your rigs? thanks again as always. -Willy
Looking at the dirt on the tread I would say you are about right. If you air them up to 32 psi check dirt pattern. You want it to be all the way across the tread. To much and it will wear in the center. To low it wears the outside.
Your car is pretty light. Radials and cars today set pressure too low for me. I would first move to 30 psi and see how it handles the pot holes (the killer of radials). I’m not a fan of wide tires and feel tracking doesn’t get the following it should. It looks like you have more weight to add; if so change your tire pressure to coincide with it… nice sedan
I just did air on all the cars last week, so this is fresh on my mind. I used my race gauge that airs 2 tires at the same time and equalizes pressure, but the gauge only reads to 30 psi. So, the rears got 30 and the fronts got 28. The roadster, though light weight, steers easier with more air so I put up with the harsher ride.
@Bandit Billy have you tried the 3 way adjustable shocks? They helped my model a truck. I ran 25 lbs in front and 20 lbs in the back.
