Im building my model a that's going to be powered by a ford 460 the long block weighs 700lbs. I would like to run a 650/16 on the front but i'm worried about load rating. Any adivce on what type of tire i need that will be a good match for the weight thats going to be on the front end?

you'll be fine. some of the cars that those tires carried had straight 8's that were heavier than any bbf

As MOCO559 said you should be fine. Remember that the car you are building isn't going to have a lot of extra weight outside of the engine. The whole car with engine and trans probably won't weigh much over 2500 lbs. if that. If you were putting the same engine and trans is say a big Packard with all the t*******s it might be an issue.

Hell the Firestone 5:00x16 dirt style ribs will carry 760 at 32 PSI EACH . Those would work if you wanted to use them.
