Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by jamesey138, Jun 16, 2005.

  1. will 5.10 x 16 cycle tires fit on 16 x 4 wheels?? anyone have any pics of rodz with cycle tires up front?? thanks.

  2. hey mate,

i dont have any pics but AV8 mentions in his How To.. book that the cycle tyres didnt last very long and developed wierd wear patterns. The also corner like shit. Ok for straight line lakes racing though>?

  3. Danny is correct. Scooter tires were common a long time ago but they don't work as well as they look. Never the less they will fit.

Another common trick were hawg wheels as spindle mounts on the front. Again looked cool but if looks were everything I couldn't have married the prettiest girl in the school.

  5. Not a lot of miles on them yet, they hadle fine right now, we will see the wear long-term.

    16x5.10 on Ford Steel wheels.

  6. I have em on my roadster[2360 LBS].......
has 1000 lbs weight on frt end.......
    tires rated at 1460lb -[pair]
they are on 48 ford wheels......
    they don't drive bad........
Im kinda thinking Ill change em out to a taller 6.50 bias car tires ,as I think high speed stability is worse now........kinda worries me.

  7. i like that look. do skooter tires require tubes? or are they radials?

  8. ya need tubes-they are tube type bias -PLUS you may never get them to blow out to the rims otherwise.......;)

  9. lol. ok. thanks choprods.
