want a big and little setup, saw a 31 with 155/80/15 on 5" rim fronts, and 255/70/15 on 8" rim rears. liked the look, but then i saw the bass coupe in the see the usa in a hemi coupe thread and really like the look of that tire combo. i was just kinda leary of going with a rear tire over 30" tall, as i want to keep my bottom end pretty snappy. my drivetrain is as follows 283 with 416 casting 305 heads, duntov 097, 81 3 speed saginaw, 3.42 rear gear ratio. any assistance is greatly appreciated. also where is the best place too find those chrome wheels on that bass coupe at the most reasonable price. i always thought those were chrome reverse wheels, but every wheel site i go on says add 25-45 for chrome reverse, i guess i dont understand what chrome reverse means (ya ya i can hear the sarcasm already, and i deserve it for a question like this)

You have enough gear and motor, but are going to give up a lot with the three speed. A 3.11 low gear Saginaw four speed (they came in Vegas) would help a lot, without too much additional cost. Those tires and gears should give about 3500 rpm at 90 mph in high, or maybe 2300 at sixty if you need to keep your license clean. Nice cruise range for a little shivolay....

if you do a search here there is lots of tire/wheel/gears info. also, search online for project33.com and click on calculation tools. there you will find info what size tires to use with your rear gears, etc. yep, chrome wheels will cost more than bare steel-search wheel vendors here.
