I've gotten myself a few 35 Ford wheels ( 16x4) I need to mount and finding tubes has been harder than I would have expected. Where to find and what kind of tubes are yall running out there?
Where to find and what kind of tubes are yall running out there?[/QUOTE] You might want to contact: Coker Tire 866-516-3215 They have offered rim strips, tubes and tires for years
Summit has Coker tubes in stock, they usually give free shipping over $100 orders, tubes are about $24 each. Need to know your tire size to get the right tube size, though. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/cok-85640 is an example. They also have tubes for radial tires, so be careful which you get.
Macs auto parts has tubes. A lot of vendors are only selling radial tubes. They work fine in bias ply tires. Bias ply tubes don't work in radial tires. Your tire size for those wheels would be 600x16. 650x16 tires are a little larger in diameter but some brands have thicker beads and can be extremely difficult to mount on 4" wide wheels.
any harley shop can fix you up. 5.00x16 is or was stock tires. Any legit tire shop should be able to get what you want. I prefer Firestone tubes but there are good tubes from other manufacturers. I run radial tubes in about anything. Started doing it in the '70s and never looked back.
I just took a set of Dunlop tubes out of some 50 year old tires...they still will hold air....probably hard to find tubes that good, today. Wrong size for you, unfortunately.
Just a few years ago I asked the Harley dealer for 5.00x16 tubes and they had never heard of them! All those old guys from back when we ran 5.00's on our HD's are dead or retired! Everything is metric now and the young uns have no clue. MT 90's and such. Dang, I got old too! Dave
I've bought tubes and bias ply tires from these folks over the years and never been disappointed https://www.millertire.com/
Speedway has them , make sure you get the correct size offset valve stem ( TR13) I believe to match the hole in the rim. Pat
I always get my tubes from Coker. Ive run 35 wires on 2 different cars. Just order the tube for the size tire you have and they'll work fine. Liners are a good idea with wire wheels too.
Tube tire tips;;;If you don't already do this, put baby powder on the tube/in side tire. That will help tube move its self around inside as your adding psi, keeps folds ect. from being a prob.=last better. Always do a check before you put the tube in to tire for leaks, blow tube up just enough,so its about the size of tire,an check it. That can save some work,if you find a leak before, having it all together. If tire is not brandnew, also check for any nails/screws ect. sharp crap stuck in it, before mounting.
It's best to use valve hole rings too: https://www.amazon.com/Inner-Tube-V...cphy=9017876&hvtargid=pla-1081918672204&psc=1 Especially if your wheel is any kind of rusty at the valve hole.
