First I want to be clear that I am not "beatin" on Beatersville.

But I have been hearing that there was whole bunch of cooler inspections and stuff like that....

Our show is on private property, ..I am just saying.

Probably like one of our big local events. You can't have your own adult beverages while the "beer Garden" is open or when the public (spectators) is on the the grounds.

One of those 44 ounce or bigger pop mugs from the mini mart will hold a 12 oz can and enough ice to keep it cold and do the ice noise in the mug and a straw will work for beer. No need to know how I know that.
The cooler stays in the trunk and discretion or being a bit sneaky keeps the h***les down.

 Muddy Roots Festival is the Show of Shows, check out the line up, bring your Canned ham's, Scotty's, Popup's, Tents, or just your bed roll, bring your Red White and Blue, PBR, Blatz, Old Style and when in Tennessee don't forget ol' Jack! come enjoy east Tennessee's best outdoor venue, if you come this year I bet you come every year! If you can't make it, Beatersville is still a great show.

  6. Beatersville is held at a historic location, that happens to be at rather large tavern. They serve their own alcohol and ask that you don't bring any on their property. They have a huge indoor stage, air conditioned I might add, that you can go into for free.

The problem was that the rules clearly stated that no outside alcohol was to be brought into the show, and people ignored that rule and made it blatantly obvious that they had brought alcohol in. They were first asked not to drink from the coolers, and when they did'nt comply, the coolers were taken until the end of the show.

The Muddy Roots Festival sounds like a great show, but....

don't let the fact that you can not bring your own alcohol be the only reason that you don't go to Beatersville.

The Good Doctor has a point: Beatersville is a great show and Muddy Roots is going to be fantastic....so what if you want to do both?

    So here is your mission:

    1. Drive down to Cookeville Tennessee for Muddy Roots Music Festival
    2. Stay until Sunday Morning
    3. Leave (****-crack-early) on Sunday
    4. Drive to Beatersville.
    5. Go Home
    6. Sleep

    There! Best of both worlds.

I have a question pertaining to the statemants made in this thread concerning adult beverages. Sounds like both shows are going to be kick ***. I've herad about them from a lot of folks up this way (Indy). May try to attend one this year....My question though is this. If adult beverages are allowed on the property and there just happens to be an accident/problem, what about liability? I chair a local fund raiser here in Indy and the site where the event is held is a pain in the *** about liabilty. AKA who's gonna pay if there is an accident? Just curious???

...you may be on to something here. I am located smack in the middle of both. You hopefully have summed up my wknd.

btw- I am not hatin' on Beatersville at all. It is one of the most fun events of the summer for me and is highly recommended to anyone. I don't mind buying my beer at the Tavern at all and the guys that promote/run the show are good friends. Hope to see ya there.
