Certainly one of the more radical Coupes I've seen...looks to be the mid 50s

If I'm not mistaken, that's a Studebaker Planar suspension, c.1941-6.

...darn good research @SR100...that really does fit the bill to a T...there was a Don Blair Racing T with an unusual Front suspension in the late 40s raced at the Dry Lakes that may have ran that as well...

...here it is I think not...but extremely interesting and uniquely different...it seems the spring is on the upper control
    Arm side in this case...

Good work, Great job! That might be the exception for putting independent suspension on a hot rod.

It's all miniature except that steering wheel...:D...interesting seeing the wheel placed to center but canted to the right side to miss the engine on the way to the box...there sure are some unique hurdles to get used to in these racers...

I wonder if that is a clone...if it isn't it is proof that some showrods did see some street duty...

@Stogy Im thinking Lee Chapel. That intake reminds me of the one on Ed Winfields 2 up 2 down T engine.

That b & w with the in my opinion more fitting tire wheel combo and look reminded me of an Ed Roth build and it ended up looking a little Indy like with the wider flatter tires which did appear on early sixties builds...but are we looking at a 68ish presentation...I wonder when the b & w was taken it could be 62 ish...

It ended up highly detailed and still an Artwork in Hotrod with early 60s influence...

  23. Stogy, the biggest difference between the Crucifier and Roth's builds is Joe's car was all metal, not Fiberglass.

That photo of the Red Baron is legit. That’s Teddy Z’s T bucket next to Chuck. The photo is downtown Wyandotte, Mi. Next time I see Ted I’ll ask about that.
