Hot Rods Tired of homogenized hotrods

This car was once a 1970’s Bonneville-El Mirage build that was built by Bill Burke, Ozzie Salvatti & Herb Catania, I also became a part of “Old Yeller”. This body was a $75.00 find in the SGV. It was built in “ The Oz Garage” in Alhambra on the former site of “The Western Air Express”-Alhambra Airport.
It’s where Oz & I have built so many Hot Rods over the past 40 yrs.




The Beginnings 1st the Airport built in 1928-Closed in 1946. House Tracts built in 1947.
1st build pic is Old Yeller in 1972 as a roller.
Oz & his brother in law Bill Burke. 1973-74.
1974-75 Winter national car show @ The L.A. Convention Center.
Same “Old Yeller” now Flathead powered and put back on the street by Pat & David Brost of Oregon. “Old Yeller’s” replacement (another original steel body & 32 Chassis). Built after we let Old Yeller go to Mark Brislawn by way of Bruce Geisler who said it was going back in the salt..... this was 85 for the sale, in 86 for the replace build. (We wanted the car to stay as a racer.....) The WASKE EFFECT Clem Waske 29 Dry Lakes Racer was rebuilt on this property as well as it sits next to the “Oz Rod”. Most likely April 1988 when I built my 1st running Hot Rod, next to the Oz Rod. Outriders Picnic-Member.
Oscar & I out @ El Mirage with the WE on its maiden run at the 70th anniversary of the only early images that I knew of until I met Doc. (The Oz Man was a great help in making this Hot Rod roll once again) . Oz and his Nicky Chevrolet-Bill Thomas 1967 SS/RS Camaro. (Wonder Where it is now?) These two also saw their first runs here. This is the Old & New together @ Muroc 96.
There’s much more but will leave it for later. It takes a long while to go through all of the phone pix......

I thought Model A but I believe it is a 32 5w...It was one of the Gear Grinders of Flint, Michigan...it's just of to the left of center in the group pic below...

...Another shot of the Gear Grinders of Flint Michigan...definately a diverse array of Hotrods...the 4 barred Deuce with reversed pitman fits right in...I don't dispute this Deuce may be a Gear Grinder Hotrod but it may have been superimposed or touched up as something seems off...

Is this Photoshopped? I can't find a make/model with the curved front door line like that and suicide doors...

 

I think it is a 35 or 36 Chevy. Not sure about the door shape. Looks like they were converted to suicide. You might be right. Overall the pic looks a little off.

 

Looks to me like took normal open doors off different car & fit in here as suicide doors when roof & everything else cut up. I like it looks tough
