Hot Rods Tired of homogenized hotrods

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by onekoolkat1950, Dec 24, 2015.

  1. That one's extra nice. Can anyone tell me if it's scaled down in size (*sectioned and narrowed* besides chopped and channeled)? It looks smaller than others.

I think the Wheelbase, color, the extended Grill Shell distance between the cowl and shell along with the other details you mentioned not only put it in a league of its own, they play with perception of the bodysize...I don't believe its sectioned or smaller...really a stunning Hotrod and I see the Lil horsey on the front tire...That Hotrod's about as Cowboy as I'd ever be...:D

  4. I am stoked to check both these builds out as they are relevant to my interests!

The 226 does not get much love despite having a section for hop-up in California Bill's Ford Speed Manual, 1952 Edition. Last year I was sniffing around buying a 47 sedan with this engine and had hopes of keeping the inline flatty and fiving it a bit of grunt.

Just spreading the Gospel as I dig it up...the diversity of go fast is going to keep my love of Hotrod well invested till Emeratis wins the race...

With so much interest in the 4s it's really not a surprise some saw 2 extra pistons as good potential for winning races too...

I certainly appreciate you sharing the history in just that with it being a focus of tech in the many magazines which aided the evolution we revere today...

...I was snooping for potential images of a recently unearthed Time Capsule T in a couple of Threads by Hamber @woodiemike the Late Hamber Rockerhead that are right up there with the best of the best and while there were no hits it was visually rewarding and this caught my eye as a great candidate for this Thread...

...pay special attention to Hamber @safariknut's post at the link above who is one of our incredibly knowledgeable resources being that he was up close and personal with what we revere here not to mention his brushwork that Grace's so many of the Hotrods and Customs of those times...

...Discussion and debate of how it was back in the day was elevated and passionate as many times it can be here at the link above but this incredible capture above highlights a point I was trying to make regarding what Hambers choose to do regarding ride appearances...

It is many times argued and a preference to many today including the older guard that rides unless fully finished and painted don't reflect the reality of the Yesteryear...

I opinioned that many here choose to live in a moment in a Hotrods evolution from unfinished to finished...this clearly highlights what I was trying to say...

This decorated Hotrod captured by a father of and shared by one of our own may have never made the Magazines or even saw final paint but it was obviously a moment this Hotrodder settled for at the time...and there's absolutely no reason one can't relive this moment as their choice of how they want to experience past excellence for the duration of ownership of their ride...

Interestingly I had inadvertently Ignored this Hamber which was absolutely an accidental clic as I don't Ignore anyone...but I found his Dads pics some of the most incredible I have ever seen here...

I am forever thankful and honored to be witness to the greatness so many have shared here...

    Thank you Hambers...;)

...Another incredible capture shared from the collection of the image in the last post, a bit of a Hybrid but still highlighting the evolution that involved the beautification of Hotrod that rapidly excelled with the Huge Shows that were happening in the early 50s...

One of my favorites! That is a Ford flathead six. Running with the tow bar mounted? A potential pogo stick.
