Still like a well done bobber truck! Especially if the box is actually useable.

...in searching for material to share I have found quite often it is often shared in Memorials/Obituaries such as this one...Unfortunately this is the Highest resolution I could find of this fella by the name of Don Cox of MO in better times...may he rest in peace...

  9. That looks like a proper "Jalopy" type hot rod. mismatched radiator, pipe bumper, no windshield, etc. I'd love something like that.

He was having a blast I'm sure...and you're right Cat, many times there were things done that influenced the Culture and the Jalopy Racers are a huge spoke in that wheel...

...Hamber @lurker mick has certainly done the Vintage Hotrod/Custom Walk...this is like premium fuel for late perhaps, early 50s-60s build and nothing beats eyes on History...my focus at the time was Breastfeeding...:D

You already were out of High school...;)

Mick what are the wheel covers...and were they 16 or 15"?

  15. To me, this is an example of a waste of time, effort, and money.

  20. It's different, but I like it. It appears to be created from a 1928-29 Ford body.

I'm not so sure it was...yes it is a highly contested departure from a revered Hotrod that wore many faces over years with this being one of its last...Jim had done the walk without a doubt and had visions beyond many...it certainly is inspired by Hamb standards despite being a late 60s or was it early 70s...

You were around for its many faces I was late to the party...

Too many here and fitting to the Hamb focus the ambience of vintage Hotrod was lost and departing by the mid 60s...and Jim was still reaching back to then with this iteration...

I also think its leaning towards a Showrod and again by the mid 60s they were getting more outlandish...

A lot happened to the youth culture about that time. We started listening to English music, dressing in strange ways, getting political, smoking Marry Jane, and believing there was such a thing as free love. It is no wonder hot rodding showed the effects. But we're back! Sorta'?

I found out how true that adage is during my divorce. Not only is love not free but you can end up making sizable monthly payments for it.
