...another of @abe lugo's captures from VLV. This is no doubt bagged but it reminds me of the salt racers. There was also a well known Dodge Drag Coupe that was real low that also may have inspired such a build. The bias plys really help tie it to the past as well.

The short one is 29/9 and the tall one is 30/1. I think the paint means one or the other, but I’m not positive.

 

I think it is a drilled Ford wheel.

And yes the '32 Plymouth coupe is a looker! There was a "32 Plymouth roadster on our place in Texas that had been my uncles hot rod in the 40s. I used to play in it and day dream of making it my hot rod in the next few years. One day when I got home from school my dad had cut up it and our old '41 Dodge sedan for scrap. Times were tough.

I was out for fish and chips dinner at the Legion in Smiths Falls yesterday and thought it fitting to take the Hotrod being it has a plausible postwar story...that in short was an aircraft repairman came back from WW11 and bought an old car and made a Hotrod...what we see here is it having evolved as many did to 1963...

Anyways it was a great drive and this old building was a great backdrop for this vintage warrior...the building was restored under the watch of Bruce Linton of Tweed, Canopy Growth. Truly amazing what was under that old grey and blackened stone...

I put this on another thread a few days ago, but I think it's more suited here.
An ol fella gave this pic to me last century of a Canadian hot rod he saw in Vancouver when he was training with American and Canadian soldiers in the NZ Army back in 1946. He was stationed up there as well as California. What I didn't realize was he had written on the back as he put it a frame for me. He also managed to get to the very first Hot Rod show in America as well. Unfortunately, he has long since passed. He still drove his beloved 37 coupe to his last days apparently as well. Someone may recognize it. Not Ford, a real oddball. Cheers

^^^. Nice rod, guessing ford 6; intake exhaust on passenger side, or maybe flathead but to many exhaust ports
