"The main attraction on the main floor had to be Chester Osgood’s highly modified ’26 T Roadster, built in the ‘40’s and raced until 1958. The incredible aluminum body was handcrafted by the legendary Whitey Clayton. It still sports one of the first Ardun-equipped flatheads. Richard started the engine for us & we were all impressed not only by the sound, but also by how it readily roared to life."

Such fantastic pics, thanks for taking the time to post them. These are by far some of the coolest pics on the HAMB

Gary it is wild, weird, unique, as always its hard to please the masses but this fellow was exposed to so much at the time and he had some skills and influence for sure. Hope he had a chance to have a little fun with it.

    Love the story below...

1932 Chev 5 window chopped and channeled. This car was just resurrected after sitting since 1962. This coupe was built in 1957 as the lad was a apprentice body man, done well and the look everyone tries to remake. Sports a 1957 T bird engine and tied to a 40 Lincoln trans and then to an original Columbia 2 spd rear end. We removed this gem from the barn a couple of weeks ago and it still retains its dirty look.
Engine turns free, although as for sitting all these years it will need the usual mechanical freshening.

I am always amazed at stuff I see and thinking it is relatively new in period and see stuff like these time capsules forcing me to rethink things a little.

Don't forget its a shadow of its former self here...

Would love to have seen a back in the day pic when buddy built it.

Really not that uncommon a look for an eastern car of the 50's

^^ it's mostly the rear fenders and the exhaust thru the trunk lid that gets my funny bone going. How the heck to you open the lid? The bottomless rear window on the chop is unusual, but that could grow on me, I suppose. Gary

Interesting observation not sure how they did it but here she is. I see some coil-overs or springs hiding in there...Looking again I'd say there is a slot at the pipe.

    Perhaps this influenced the exhaust...

  26. Now that's what I call "homogenized". Take a circle tracker and a bucket.... shake 'em together and pour out the blended creation.

Here's photos of another created by one of my customers, Mike Johnson.......

  28. This is a 58 Belair custom from the central N.Y. area.
I have seen the car around for about ten years, but never been able to catch up with the owner.
