I'm still making plans for my '41 Plymouth coupe. I'm keeping the stock frame and the stock front suspension. I'm changing to a more modern Mopar or Ford rear axle for strength, a better gear ratio, and better brakes. I have a set of 16x7 rims (4" backspace) still in the box, no tires. With the right tires, will these rims work on the front without clearance issues? I'm assuming they will work on the back with the right rear axle. Who has used similar rims on their rod, and did you have to do anything to make them fit? Thanks for the help, guys.
brozach, Thought this link might help. http://207.201.148.65/pdfs/wheel_fitment.pdf You'll have to do all of your measuring but the end result would be worth it. JMHO. Kahuner
Kahuner, Thanks for the handy info. It helps, but I'd still like to know what size rims HAMBers are running up front on their late 30's/early 40's drivers. Anyone running anything close to 16x7?
