I have a friend of mine that is looking at an OT Avanti in Florida. My question is simply, does Florida use a ***le for transfer of ownership or is the registration used to transfer ownership?
***le. Although....I bought a 53 Buick with no papers when I lived in Miami. I took the vin to the courthouse and they ran the numbers. Since it had not been registered within the last 10 years, they sent me a Florida legit ***le in the mail. Took a week or so but it was worth it.
if the ***le was issued with in the last 12 yrs all that is needed is to sign and date it. it does not need a notary stamp
One thing to look into is that the date of sale on the ***le is current. I have a rig out here that I have the ***le to that is signed but dated for when the original owner sold it and it changed hands twice before I got it and it has sat here for over ten years I can't remember what the penalty for being late changing it into my name was the last time I checked but it was more than I paid for it. When it is done being a storage unit for my flathead and attending parts it will end up on it's last ride on a roll back but right now it is a cheap, dry storage shed with wheels.
