A heart felt thanks to all veterans and their families for the sacrifices you have made for our American freedoms. Happy Vets day 2011.
My salute to all serving now and before. Don USN/DC1, Viet-Nam service 67-69. I think about those who were not able to return home with me every day. And pray for those who are away to return home. God speed brothers and sisters.................
hemi This had been eating at me all day. Transport, air support and med-evac all pretty important services if you are ground troops. We all came home from that night mare with problems, some of us got **** from our fellows in arms, others got it from the general public. Either is wrong. Do not let anyone slight your service. I will stand with you any day any time and be damned proud to do it.
Thanks to all who serve!! I have seen friends go and never return, and friends return never the same. God bless you all.
Thank you and welcome back brothers! as my pops always said.I was never able to serve cause of me back and stuff, but I salute you for giving us our safety and freedom.
Ditto. I am glad to see that Americans now welcome home and honor the veterans, unlike when we came back in the 60s and 70s and were looked down upon and called names. It has always been an honor, no matter if you were drafted or volunteered. Its a duty we all should be proud of whether we were being shot at or supporting those who were. Glad for all that survived. USAF 1968-1972
I never went to 'Nam, went to the other 1/2 of the world, but served proudly (USAF, 1970-1974). Thanks, all of you who have remembered. It means a lot to all of us. It was an unpopular time to be in the Military, for the most part. Our GI haircuts gave us away, I was actually spit on by a civilian in Riverside, CA, in 1970 or 1971. I will admit, it hurt to be looked upon with such disfavor, by our own people....

thanks for your service. I never forget that I can live free because of all sevicemans sacrifices. also remember the sacrifice of the families at home and all those that live with and love a returned service person who will never be the same either physicly or mentaly.
I concur with you 26 Tudor about the 60's and 70's commie Jane type anti-war protesters. We were told not to wear our military uniforms while on leave because our own people ( the anti-war protesters ) may try to harm us. I did not get sent to Vietnam, but would have went if they had sent me.I too proudly servied in the USAF from Dec.61 to Dec.65. Got sent to Libya for a 18 month tour and later got caught up in the 65 build up of the Vietnam war, but only got as far as Japan for a short 6 month tour. Just want to say thanks to ALL our Vets past and present who are still serving proudly. I'm so glad our military members are being treated with respect and dignity this time around. Thanks again.....Russ
