At the risk of offending fellow Car Crazy's, insulation, heat and AC are your friend. If you can have a Hot Rod, you can afford heat and AC, no sympathy for stupidity or cheapness, exception for men/woman that work in the elements, but again that's a choice. Living in Wisconsin all my life, have learned to deal with the weather changes, not that difficult, cold, put more clothes on, cold/cold, find a heated area, hot, wear lighter clothing and hot/hot find AC. When reading on here, some of the "problems" people whine or ***** about can be easily solved with an ounce of Common Sense. BUT as an observation in my 69 years of life, common sense, courtesy, integrity are becoming a rare commodity IMO.

I can speak of pipelining for 30 plus years , it has taken its tole on my body . 85% of the men I worked with died within 4 years of retiring . There were very few days when it’s a good temp to work , usually hotter than a 4 balled monkey or colder than a witches *** . Breathing grinder dust , smoke from welding , busting off asbestos pipe coating or mercaptan usually daily , was tough . But I raised my family and lived as well as I expected to . I meet some real men , they effected my mental state of being on this rock we call home for the rest of my life ! I have had my share of spots removed , Cancer , and fusions in the spine . I spend the last 5 years in a pipeline control room , rotating shifts , what a real nightmare ! I would not trade pipe lining labor for sitting in the controlled environment office for a minute , it almost killed me .

Being retired , I pick my days to work and days to relax .
I make the best of what I have been granted . It could always be worse and chances are it will get worse before it gets better .

Just getting out in the 32 or one of the old scooters to a car show , and enjoying friendships makes it all a fond memory . The laughs and hand shakes are what made it all worthwhile to me , whether it’s -10 or +110 enjoy it .

I can remember changing a ****** in the snow, in my 20's. When I built my garage at 62 I put in insulation and added
a minisplit. For the 1200 or so the mini split cost me it has made the garage comfortable all year long.

    Hello,

All Summer long, we have been getting great coastal So Cal weather. Not too hot and never cold, pure T-Shirt weather.

But as the pandemic Summer rolled into the Fall months, the skies get a little clearer and the clouds begin to come in with the fog banks sitting out near Catalina Island 26 to 50 miles away. (the coast curves farther South) With those fog banks and overhead clouds, it obviously starts getting colder. Now, add in those Northern storms coming out of the Alaska Peninsula area and the whole Westcoast of the USA starts getting to be jacket weather.

We in the Southern portion of the Westcoast are more fortunate in that our Mediterranean climate zone keeps the storms pushing South, gets going in an Eastern movement, faster than it can reach us at the Southern end of the giant comma-shaped storm. So, we do get some effects of most storms in So Cal. But, it is relatively mild compared to elsewhere, even in other parts of So Cal.

For the last two days, it has been high 40s and low 50s at night, with the temps hovering around 50-60s during the day along the coast. But, for this coming storm, it is suppose to be 50s all week. Full jacket weather with long sleeve t-shirts. That is for sure.

It is not going to be any kind of “hot rod weather” this week.

Stay warm, dry, and healthy, as it still is no place to be indoors with a million other people during this pandemic health problem.
