if you do have it chopped make sure you find someone who has chopped many round top cars.that chop would be really easy to f#ck up and the lines of the car would be ruined.i beleive you have to remove a sliver of trunk lid to get the profile.good luck.

That car looks awful nice to go under the sawzall! I love a chopped Fleetline but I don't think I could do it to such a nice car. Like said above everyone is doing it so be different, put a moonroof in! LOL

She's beautiful the way she sets--find a cheap car to chop--cause once you start you know you'll end up going completely through it!!

I don't get it. Everybody say's it too nice to chop. Would it no longer be a nice car if it were chopped? Just asking.

Fleetlines look good chopped and they look good without a chop. I would just clean it up a little like lose the bumper uprights, gas door trim, nose & deck it. By doing this it would show off the car at it's best with the flowing lines of a fastback.
There is really no reason to chop the car unless your plan on a full out custom. I own a Fleetline and it's a custom without a chop and it looks cool.

That is perfection and a chop won't improve it. It's too beautiful to chop... be different, stay original!

  16. It would be fine either way.....The OP asked for "opinions"....No more serious than that......................:)

Chop that sucker! stock is boring. I chopped a 30 k miles 33 ford 2 door sedan.it was nice chopping one that wasn't junk to begin with, like most of them are. No rust or trashed sheet metal . Go for it!

This is one great looking car. The consensus so far is pretty much to leave it, as it is too nice. I say, it's a nice car ready to be chopped. What's better than chopping a car that's already in a good condition. In other words, can you only chop a crappy car? I say go for it........my 2c.

    Chop it of coarse.

Fleetlines are nice as they came from the factory, and even better lowered and perhaps with some mild custom body work, and a nice set of wheels and tires. But they are breathtaking when chopped.... chopped right that is.

This body style is difficult to chop right, and you need to do a lot of research on how you want it to look like, and who you want to let do the body work. Or in case you will do it yourself measure and re measure everything before you start cutting and welding.

No car is to nice to be chopped.
When done right the end result is always better than what you started with.

I'm the mostly always for chopping but in all honesty, thats way too nice to chop, and the amount of work needed on that rear deck lid is way too risky to mess around on that!
    leave it be...IMHO

Many early customs started off as new or late model cars that were immediatly customized. Sometimes in phases, sometimes getting the full treatment right off the bat. Obviously the cars were more plentiful then but the owner still had to have the balls to cut their brand new car.

I would build it to look exactly the way you would want it with no regard to how nice the car is or how much work it will take. When people are afraid to cut a car its like they're saving it for the next guy, and if I end up being the next guy its getting the roof wacked.

    Rikster has it right!
It takes BALLS to chop it, but breathtaking when done properly. Follow your heart and do what you want. There is no better end result of a chop then starting with a clean car!!!
