To chrome or not to chrome

  3. now my question is do they really need to be re-chromed or can you just put them back on?

    The chrome is flaking off and theres some service rust. Could always put them back on. Thinking about sand blasting them and some silver paint and clear coat.

    having worked at a chrome shop, i can tell you that for 265 a reputable shop will tell you to get new ones. that being said i would probably get the stainless pieces, just buff when they get dull and they're good as new.

    personally i can't stand chrome so i vote you get them Ni plated

    I bought my car late last year and and the first thing I noticed was the front bumper was painted black like the rest of the car. Another HAMBer already has a chrome set waiting for me.
     
  8. Chrome wont get you home but sure looks kool on the side of the road,thats what they say for h.d.so i guess it works on old cars as well.

    Like on GLOSSY paint.........

    And there is a PAINT out there that you'd SWEAR was chrome. Have seen it on race cars with 'glass bumpers.........

    My vote 1. nerf bars 2. chrome bumper 3. leave them off.

    I would go chrome or a cool cheaper alternative, shoot them silver with silver flake on top. I have done this on some wheels and although it's not chrome it does have a cool look when the light hits it.

    painted bumpers are HIDEOUS,,,,if you cant afford to get them chromed right now, at least paint them silver until you can
