I didn't realize you had no fab skills, if that's the case, don't even think about the clip, even after it's done, you've gotta hang the sheet metal, and that can take some fab work as well. I've never looked into it, but maybe you should investigate a little more. 54 chevys are pretty popular, there's gotta be some good ways to drop the original suspension. That FREE clip is gonna cost you a lot of money if you have to pay someone.

OK, let's just let this one die. I never said I had no skills, I said they suck and that's because I'm comparing mine to what I've seen on this board from others. I have a few friends that know how to weld something this heavy and would be willing to teach me along the way.
I've already done the disc brake conversion, but I really don't wan't to spend another $2000 on a MII kit, and I really didn't want to spend $500+ to rebuild the original bushings only to have the alignment guy stand there and scratch his nuts while he tells me he doesn't even know where to start. I figure if I go either route I'll sell my original front end with the disc conversion. I only started to think about the clip route when it landed (figuratively)on my lap.

BTW: I wasn't trying to say anything bad about the Sanderson's. Only problem is those headers have fairly small primaries and can only support so much HP.

This is where this board is great and can stink at the same time. I asked for advice (which many gave), but then the lame comments start. I think 51chevysled was spot on when he said that "45% would say do it, 45% would say MII and 10% would say leave it"

    Thanks again.

No need to butcher a perfectly good frame, imo.

You're right. They have as much business being here as a "50's" Kustom with skinny whites and salt flat discs:eek:

traditional or not, i don't give a fuck.... I'm going to put a MII kit on my wife's 54. it's going to be her daily driver. so i want to make sure it's rides and handles well. yes 54's came with IFS from the factory. but the price to rebuild the front end, dropped uprights, lowered springs, and the disc brake conversion. shit i might as well have put a MII on it.

    here's one that i put on a 54 already.
