I'm just lookin for your thoughts on making my truck fenderless over the winter months and going with lake headers ??? Any thoughts or ideas greatly appricated...
I think it depends A TON on the stance of your truck. if its the one in your avatar i would personally leave the fenders on. (unless there is a deuce frame under there, that changes everything.)
If it is fenderless...it needs to be on a '32 frame or channeled over a square tube frame.......put the lake headers on it like it is.
From experience, leave the fenders on. I had one fenderless, on '32 frame. I would have had fenders but I sold it to build another project. Tim
It's your truck , of course , but since you're asking , I think that full fendered completes the look of most rods . T
If you'r a young guy and don't mind driving with your knees up around your ears, channel it, if your older leave it like it is. I learned the hard way when I was younger, that channeled pickups are not all that comfortable. Here was mine back in 1960.
I never liked my roadster as much as when I went fenderless. Plus I don't have to work over the fenders when working on the motor etc. And much less to clean
with an A frame I'd say give fenderless a try but leave the splash aprons on. I think it looks killer that way
Well I guess I will be letting the fenders on for now. Thanks everyone for your input. Appricate it. I'm gonna ditch the hood evan if Pa. law don't like it...... Gonna be a Rebel.
I'm in the same boat... I've always been proud that I have kept my fenders on all these years but the bodywork has always been***** and since building my 55 and making her all pretty, I've been itching to do something different with my 40 PU. I like the looks of the truck in your avatar with just looks more classic!
Well I made a decision to leave the fenders on and ditch the hood top. Not to sure what the next mod will be at this point in time.
If its a solid front axle, you can go either way depending on its stance. If its independent, Ya Fenders for sure..... Depends on which way your headed with the truck. I like Fenders myself That's a good lookin truck like it is.
