I just bought a clean looking pair of Cal Custom valve covers for my 66 Fairlaine. I can't decide if I should polish them up or leave them with the bead blasted finish they have now. I plan to run an Offy tunnel ram ,that I am not going to polish. I just wonder how hard will it be to keep them reasonably clean. Anyone have a thought or sugestion on this? Thanks.

I bead blasted my valve covers and then just polished the top of the fins. I wanted to match the looks of my intake and keep the overall look of the motor clean and plain.

  6. I polished my Cal Customs on the 302 and painted between the fins.

Polished my valve covers and tunnel ram, then went over 'em with Scotchbrite[tm] and WD-40 [tm]. Did that to every piece of aluminum on the car (and there's plenty), for consistency's sake. So many ways to go on this... Hey, am I responding to the right post?

Polish the fin tops and paint in between.
