Excellent! Thanks man! Going to think seriously about this. My quarters need a lot of attention in that area. Probably the simplest solution.

My parents are coming after Christmas and I have a week off to spend with my family. I REALLY want the Murray done so he and I can go for a drive together. So it's priority, right now.

As for bumping the coupe ahead of the Pontiac?? You'll have to take that up with my Wife, since it's going to be for her.:D HAHA! Plus we'll have to see about funding and build space for the coupe as well. When that will happen and where it will come from only time will tell...

Oh, can I relate to this project! Taking money away from a current project to buy the base for another, with the full knowledge that plans are to finish the next one. If you think you're nuts then join the club! I just spent Roadster funds to buy doors for a future project, something a bit off the wall, but the dreaming is so much fun. I even had a HAMB artist do a concept sketch, seeing something on paper that I could almost see in my brain is really something. With some luck I'll score one major missing piece at Hershey, then I'll start a HAMB build thread. Finish the Murray, keep dreaming about the Coupe, while doing the '53 Pontiac.

JeffreyJames, does this help? Here is an earlier picture of mine.

There are at least eight different A coupes in there.

WOW! That is really cool! I like it even MORE now! :D

So this reminds me... I've been meaning to ask you, Kevin. Are you still making the Spun Discs, or did you move on from that?

  12. Not kevin here but I think he isn't making them any more. I'll just about bet there is a set around someplace though.

By the way scooter I think you are crazy as hell. crazy like a fox.

I can't wait to see what happens with this one.

Haha! I don't know man... I've seriously been thinking after the Murray build that I need to "see someone" and get my brain checked out. Then I bought this thing...

So I have the wrong Kevin who was doing the Spun Discs??:eek: Oops!

  14. No the right kevin I am just answering for him. I am probably crossing some sort of a boundry here. But I too am a little off center.

In answer to another question or actually two questions:

If I recall my history a lot of old Fords got made into pickup trucks during the "Great Depression" there is probably another reason that so many don't have an ass end but that is one reason that I know of.

I did set in Mr Shapes rod once BTW. I am only about 5'10 or 5'11 I didn't have any trouble seeing out. I am pretty long from the waist up though. My biggest problem was getting out of it after. If you look real close when he hasn't scuffed it for awhile you will find hand prints where most folks have to grab on to get out of it.

is this getting confusing? it is getting confusing for me and I am the one writting it.

Yeah, it's me and I'm not doing them anymore. Sorry, just bad dealings with people turned me off.

I think your coupe is the perfect start to make something really cool. If you have any specific questions about how I did the top let me know. There are a lot of small tweaks that don't really stand out but (I think) make a big difference overall.

Been there before. This one actually has a snow plow on front. At one time there was a wooden flatbed.

when I look at the quarter panels on mine, it does appear that at some point in it's life, the rear may have been cut off (or at least a portion of it) and then someone re-attached one. Some real bad weld seams that will have to be cut out and re-done. A lot of the crap was taken care of by the previous owner.

So this whole week my head has just been spinning with ideas. LOT AND LOTS of ideas, parts research, and question asking. This is really going to be a fun project!

Not a model a but another with the quarters gone.....of course I was the one that cut them off since a barn collapsed on them and crushed them pretty good. But gone none the less.

I'm helping a buddy on the chassis with this one,... He wanted it chopped 2",.. I said thats not enough,.. So he had it chopped 2 1/2" (by fellow HAMBers),.... I still think it needs another inch out of it.

Yeah and you can take the quarters too to splice in so you have those cool roadster flares. Ya know what, shit while you're at it take the frame, the hemi (and old polished EC6 6x2 intake) all the SW gauges. I was going to scrap it anyways.

I always think it's nice when info like that gets passed along. Clicked on your Coupe build thread, don't know how I missed it originally, looks like a nice project.
