Hello all I am new to the HAMB and old hot rods (30's). I am wondering if there is another reason to split the wishbone other than to fit a motor. I have a 31 A unsplit bones that at one time housed a flathead. I do not know what year motor was in it but have found a 50 Merc flattie. Anyone know if this will fit without splitting the wishbone or modifing the cab or firewall, which is currently stock. I would like to build something along the lines of a early 40's traditional rod. Thanks for all your input.

  2. You can run a flathead with unsplit bones and stock firewall. I highly recommend the book "how to build a traditional hot rod" by Vern Tardel. It explains in great detail how to build a AV8.
