today i found out Hardees is now selling the western bacon cheeseburger.
i loved these burgers when i lived in california and after moving out here i would look foward to having a delicious western bacon chessburger everytime i would return to visit,.
then when Carls Jr. bought out Hardees my hopes that i would be able to eat a western bacon cheesburger were i now call home were soaring! but then i quickly found out they had no plans on bringing the western bacon chesseburger here.
that was the only burger i wish they started selling,i even had my wife bring me one back on the plane once.but no,they didnt : so i guess its been like 3 or 4 years since the buy out and now they decided to make it. i even stopped by the local hardess today to see if it was true, and yes! its real,,i wasnt able to get one,its gonna have to wait till tommorow.
    keep your fingers crossed !

How do you handle the anticipation? Just to be safe, maybe I should eat two tonight (one for me and one for you), just in case you find out tomorrow it's a giant hoax.

    Good luck.

    The old In-n-out! [IMG]

  5. I worked in Montana for a few years and I cant understand how people live without good Mexican food or In-n-Out. Fuck that place.

the other day, I ordered a six dollar western bacon from Carls but had to throw half of it in the dumpster. They are simply too fucking big. I eat at In-n-out twice a week, always will.

I think talking about hamburgers is cool.

  6. damn i'm hungry now [IMG] hmmmm maybe i'll eat in n out for dinner

Okay-I've got to side with you guys on the In-n-out burgers. In my opinion, it's the only bright spot California has. BUT, There's also In-n-out in Vegas.
    Sorry California--you were "this" close...

I worked for an outfit in Wichita,Ks some years ago called Dog and Suds.
They made dogs and burgers without equal.
The first thing I did when starting my shift was melt real butter.
Then, I brushed the inside of each half of the burger and dog buns.
When the burgers or dogs were grilled, the buns were grilled, too.
    Real tasty.
I did not know that Carls bought Hardees.
I thought they were a division of Hardees, you see Carls.Jr in some locations and Hardee;s in others.
    Learn something every day.

I'd kill for a Sonic around here. The closest one is Ft. Wayne, Indiana. Don't ask why I know. [IMG]

Ever try to explain to a woman (read wife) why it is called a "Six Dollar Burger". It's like trying to... [IMG]

I know exactly how you feel man! Theres this place in Quincy IL (a couple hours away from me) called MADE RITE. They have the best burgers on the face of the earth! They are a loose meat sandwich and there so damn good!

My dad goes to Quincy once a month and last time i had him bring me back 10 Cheese-Rites in a cooler. Man, i want one so bad right now! Thanks! [IMG]

  18. Made Rite, I afraid I don't get them. [IMG] I've been to Iowa a coupla times, (the GF is from there), we go to the Made Rite. it's ground beef on a bun.If it had salt and pepper in it, I'd be surprised. She LOVES them. P.S. She went to school in Quincy.

I can't wait to get back to Detroit this weekend and get me a White Castle, the Krystal in Tampa closed and they weren't greasy enough anyways. Last year my Aunt sent me to a place off 16 mile rd., kinda like a White Castle, 'cept they put grilled onions on them, them were goooood.

White Castles aren't really hamburgers though, they are something different.

I ate white castle today and it always seems like a good idea until you eat it. It is steamed meat. Not fried, charbroiled, seared over the open fire...freakin steamed. You honestly don't require teeth to chew it. You might as well lick them, and throw them in the toilet and just cut out the middle man. It's not food, it's cologne for your ass. Your poopchute will smell like steamed meat for days and while that will get you some good licks from the family dog and make you ticklish, it won't please the wife. I think I had in-n-out in california...if this is the same place that will make you a 4x4??? 4 burgers and 4 pieces of cheese on one bun? I also had Fatburger in Vegas and got a one pound burger there. Loved it. A place in Wheeling Illinois called Maddies Roadhouse served me up a four pound burger called the "Betcha Burger" and gave me 30 minutes to eat it. It came on an 18" pizza tray with two pounds of french fries and three whole pickles. The bun was a hard french roll about three inched tall on the top and two inches thick on the bottom. It was ridiculous. They cooked the single 4 pound burger in about 5 minutes. It was a blackened rim bowl of blood soup basically. I ate all the meat and all the fries but the bun wasn't doable. I offered $100 to anyone in the restaurant who could eat just the bun in 30 minutes and there weren't any takers. I stopped eating competitively after that because I just felt a little too gay having that much of somebody else's meat in me. The subsequent colonoscopy I got kind of helped that phobia. A half pound is just barely gay and could easily happen by accident so I still go to Hardee's. I also go to a heart specialist now so don't let me guide you. I am not sure what he drives but he could afford a nice hot rod.

  21. Well, I could have gone the rest of my life perfectly happy NOT knowing that much information about anybody's digestive tract. [IMG]

I am all about some Robertos. That chain started in San Diego and growing up down there I lived on carne Asada Burritos and rolled tacos for my entire pre-adult life pretty much.
