  1. You have it for sale on the Ford Barn?

Thanks guys , makes me feel better about the interior , it's a little different than I pictured as well . Looks real dark in the shade , with the top on I think it will look pretty good . It is for sale , as well as my Zephyr which is posted on here . I have a 1 shot deal at buying a big empty piece of land next to my house so I need the cash . I'll post it for sale here with pictures when it's done . Going to hopefully do a magazine feature on it soon as it's done in a few weeks . I'll post a bunch of pictures of the top getting redone in a week or so .

Whether or not the cars sell, do whatever it takes to buy the land...

I was pretty stoked to see the top on it today when I went by the uph. shop ! He got a bunch of pictures of everything as he blew it apart , really interesting how they made these things . My uph. guy has been doing this stuff for 30 years or so and he said he had never seen piping so straight as it was on the headliner , when he started taking it apart he realized they inserted steel wire in it to make it perfectly straight , he was like oh **** why didn't I think of that ! He also said as crude as the frame is , it actually seemed like it would last forever and was in real good shape . I looked at all the pictures of Tom Sewell's restoration of the Ralph Jilek car and it sure looks to me like the the same guys made my top as that one , if you Carson/Gaylord/Hall experts think it's not Carson PLEASE let me know . Interior color is actually really growing on me , I hope the top comes out how I want . He finished the headliner already and it looks great .

Showd the pics to GAYLORD over the weekend, he doesnt think its one of his tops. He also didnt think it was a CARSON either, if it were a CARSON it would have a tag on one of the wood bows?

That's cool that you checked with him Thanks . We looked and didn't find a tag anywhere , back window was probably redone in the 60's and maybe they removed it then or somewhere else down the line . It looks pretty similar to the top on the Ralph Jilek 40 and the previous owner told me it was Carson , so unless somebody confirms otherwise I guess that's what I will believe .

Hey guys, this is Bill Gaylord Jr. My dad looked closer at your 36 and said it IS one of his. He also showed me this article he remembered Rod & Custom did back in 1997. I think this is your 36 in the picture.

Well the car in the 1997 R&C article is a Roadster. And the car in this post is a Cabriolet... so I dont think it is the same car...
Not saying it could not be a Gaylord top though... It could very well be...

Welcome Mr. Gaylord ! Thanks for checking this out and showing your Dad . Here's a picture from the mid 80's roughly when the previous owner bought my 36 , it kind of resembles the Gaylord panoramic back window but is different obviously and I figured it had been put in somewhere along the line . I'm putting in a chrome , zip down mail slot .

NICE 3 window , I had a black one real similar a while back . 5.50's for a lowered car so they don't rub , 6.00 for stock seems to work real well .
