Projects Today we bought a Willys!!!!!!!!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by INLAW MODEL A, Mar 20, 2010.

  1. So what kind of top uses these bows?

  2. Well, we made some progress, David pulled the plugs, I blasted them, he looked up the gap in the book, and I showed him how to gap plugs. He put them back in a hooked up the wires. He really is into this Jeep! Today my buddy was picken at the junk yard and brought us 4 used tires for free. My dad wants to fix it up and get it mechanically sound, so here we go. My father in law has a cj3b in the yard that we are going to look at next weekend for parts.

  3. Had the scariest ride of my life when my 47 Willys almost flipped over at slow speed... it's primitive nature is a great humbling experience and should be mandatory for every Hot Rodder for the proverbial "Cup Check"!!!

There's a Guy in Kenosha with every part you'd need for that thing... including Bodies!

    I love this little film!

My Dad made the plywood one from the Mechanic's Illustrated plans when we were kids.
Sort of a cross between soapbox derby and a foot pusher.

It is pretty cool and it should be lots of
fun! About it not being "a 41 G***er coupe"
    - if it's any solace to you, there is some
lineage there at least, because the flathead
4-banger in the early Jeeps is the same engine
that Willys also previously used in the '40 and
    '41 "Speedway" and "Americar" Coupes!! :D :D
