Now that sounds like the "good old days" to me. This new fangled stuff of race cars having to run mufflers sucks.
Haven't touched the car in 2 months and it will probably be February or March before I get back on it. We did manage to roll it back into the shop today and my buddy Bill stopped so I coaxed him into helping me install the windshield. Meltdown drags are still our goal and at least we're closer this year than last.
Hi Mike...I came across this thread and had to laugh. Its a lot easier to use szcz than to spell or pronounce your last name.I enjoyed watching your old Top Stocker run!
AKA.......xstocker! Now if we can just get this thing to leave like the Top Stocker.....that would be fun!
The idea behind the Japanese propoganda aimed at US servicemen, was to beat them down mentally. But, I think it just p*ssed them off more than anything, and got them rockin' and rollin'. Keep the updates on the Rose tribute car coming; I am a big fan of Sedan Deliveries (I've only had FOUR). I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
Back to top of the projects list. It might look the same, but the sand paper is getting finer. We're getting closer to putting color on it.
The project is coming along very nice. Between time and having the money it's never easy to complete many projects. Jimbo
Package arrived this morning from Mr. Cureton himself! Cool stuff and I can't thank him enough. I'll try to scan some stuff at work next week, but until then, here's a little teaser.
I love these headers, build on Mike. I have to say that this is one of the more interesting builds I've seen in a while. Like Jay Fishbeck's El Camino or Nad's Caddy concept convertible; I'm hooked.
Call me naive, but why the hell did those servicemen listen to those broadcasts? apparently you have not been overseas . when in viet nam , we listened to a similar type . a lot of times all you could get was her station . not praising her , just something to listen to . after a few months of being in BF where ever , you need entertainment . join the service & get the experience !
Looks good mike. Love the color. Can't wait to see it in the sun. How did you end up deciding on the color? I saw on some other forum that a guy offered to send you some paint chips off the original. Did that ever happen? Will you be bringing it to the meltdown? I still want to stop out and check it out though. Keep up the good work. Jay
Mike looks good. Wish there were more Junior stockers that ran at vintage events. Looking forward to seeing it at the Meltdown.
