    Thanks!
There are some cars running without any numbers or markings, perhaps real early runs or just tests?

Sensory overload. Kinda funny how the group of guys seem completely disinterested in the Alfa and the 35 Ford has their full attention while the Alfa driver stands there like the odd man out. And is that a shot of our mystery 40 we’ve been talking about?

Ryan, is there a database of early time trials and entry numbers to run these against? Old sanctioning body stats, club records?
I realize that something like #41 is going to be used a lot, maybe every meet. But as names and cars are matched up and confirmed, it might end up a clearer picture. I'm no historian, but with the tools available and the past rapidly getting lost to time, this can't get much easier.

That 310a roadster pickup was run by the Farmer brothers, I beleive one of them was Jerry Farmer. It had a clutch or flywheel explosion at some point which put a big hole right through the top of the cowl on the drivers side. A good friend of mine named Mike Arnold owned that car from the 60's until his p***ing 10 or so years ago. He lived here in Colorado in a town called Lasalle. Mike was the old timer that got me to start going to bonneville every year, around 2008 or so. He drove this rpu to bonneville many times through the 80's and 90's then later on would trailer it behind his small dodge motorhome van thingee. He would stay at the KOA and drive the rpu down to the salt for the event. He introduced me to Vern Tardel in the tech tent (when tardel was running that yellow wine country 27 T) and they got to joking around that they were the only guys out there with flathead powered cars in the 80's. Here is a couple of photos of the car and Mike, he never wore shoes out there..

  13. The photos are 1948, I will ID what I know later. The Alfa Romeo was Tommy Lee's, the date for this meet would be 25th July 1948 as the program can be seen in background
