    Mickey's book "Challenger" states that they spent August 23, 1959 going through technical inspection and made the first trial run on the short course on August 24.

    That would make sense. Jim Travis is a wealth of knowledge but unfortunately I don't have his contact info any longer. He still lurks around Kugel's as well as the usual SoCal events. Someone over on the Landracing.com forum would likely know as well.

    LOL Well, my memory is fuzzy. I must've snuck in last time.. lol
