I met Tom a few years ago at HERSHEY and have all his books and he's a real nice guy. It's refreshing to know that there are guy's like us that drive our Woodies like a modern car. My '46 has been driven coast to coast and has over 55K on the clock. July 22nd is the Woodie Club East Coast Nationals at the Mystic Seaport from 10 AM until 3 PM. Should be around 50 or more Woodies.
I’ll have to watch the video tonight. I’ve a bunch of his books and was excited to find him active online doing more of the stuff that’s in the books.
I cross paths with Tom a couple of times per year and always enjoy talking to him. He is a true car guy, for sure......and a nice one at that.
We built a home on Lake Norman a few years ago and I lived almost straight across the lake from him. He had for many years Tom's Woodie Party in October each year. I got invited and got to know he and his wife, even got to park in front of his home for a few years. He is a really cool guy and a great "car guy". He is part owner in the CAR Barn in Concord N.C. that sells old cars and memorabilia. Love what he does and has a great time doing it. His Cunningham barn find is a real piece of history and he drives it also.
Really cool to hear more about Tom's woodie. From the sounds of it he really is the laid back unpretentious guy you see on the show. All the ego driven hot rod shows get so old.
