Tom and i are co-workers and im excited to be helping Tom on the metal work side of things to re invent this 13' 7'' aluminum tank.
Tom had a planned trip to Bonneville last week ,but as you all know the event got cancelled. He had planned to gather as much info as possible in a week and come back eager to build.
So in light of that we are relying on research away from the flats and the knowledgeable guys on here!

Here's some of the ingredients accompanied with a couple of photos (more to come)
It's a 1930 ford four banger it has been pressurize and bearing inserts custom ground cam windfield cyl head. 2 carbs. Trying to use a Mitchell 4speed and a Mitchell overdrive if it fits. A banjo rearend. A 1933 front axel with spring.

Didn't know rules allowed real wood 2x4 for frame to body spacer.
Kidding aside, should be a interesting build.

Nice tank to start with. I was wondering about your choice of transmission. Isn't that a NASCAR type trans? Seems like it may be a little bit of over kill. On my V4F roadster I use a Pinto 4 speed. Has worked fine so far. It is the same transmission I used with a Pinto motor, a Lotus 907, and the OHV converted Plymouth four I ran in V4/GR. Ran it at the drags a few times. Lots of El Mirage p***es. Set V4/GR record at Muroc. V4F/FMR at El Mirage and G/GR records at lake and salt. As well as Inliners Intl D/GR drag strip record. So it's cheap, (Thats why I used it) small and it works. I also use a V8 quick change. Never felt the need for OD, but another gear would be interesting.
