Knew him, but the 1st roadster was long gone by that time. Did see the car go thru all of it's later owners incarnations
I got my new Danbury Mint Rod and Custom Dream Truck diecast the other day and was told that the flamed "famous" version of the car was next in line from them. (BTW, the truck is killer if you are into playing with toy cars like me) I need to email them to confirm it. Anybody know about this? Love this car, I copied the interior somewhat on my roadster.
Here is a thread I started a while back,... About the Don Hudson / Tom McMullen Roadster, with some killer early pictures before Tom owned it ! (During,.. and just after building it) http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=429146&highlight=tom+mcmullen+roadster
I was watching Turner Classic Movies this morning and saw this short about graduating from high school and was shocked to see three young guys drag racing the McMullen roadster - pre-flames and blower. TCM is scheduled to replay the short next month: http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/870511/The-Hurrying-Kind/
