  2. IN FUCKING SANE....

Thanx for putting these up Doug - us HEMI starved MoPar nuts would feel like we'd died and gone to heaven looking at all that hardware.

Simply beautiful.....the standard of cars is so high as well, I really gotta get my ass to Famoso one of these years.

Thanx a mill for making feel like I was there.

Thanks so much for making the sacrifice and taking these pictures...For us old guys who once saw these cars in action and never thought we would see them again, this is almost beyond belief...never thought I would ever see Junior Thompson's Studebaker sedan again, or so many of these other cars. THANKS AGAIN! Hope the back is better....

Wow, what a history lesson. Thanks for the effort to go and then to share. Many memories of my life in those shots.
The swamp rats were from my life at the old Golden Triangle drag strip in Garlits backyard in Florida.
Prudhomme and Ivo was at that track in the sixties when I was flagging. He was a skinny little kid, as was Ivo.
The Green Monster was at the first drag race I went to in Michigan in the fifties.
Pure Heaven from it's Florida tour in the seventies. I have pictures of that one from that time.
I will be dragging these pictures all day.
Thanks again for your efforts, I wish I could have been there.

No, I don't believe so. It was in the static display area. This was real racing, and I only saw one "exhibition" by some guy in a '59 Chevy rear-engined pick-up that did a wheelstand for the entire quarter mile. I understand it was fired in the host hotel parking lot on Friday night, though!

Great pix Doug , it was a blinding weekend , I agree with Weasel regarding the thinly disguised modern funny cars , the rest was magical , here's looking forward to next Oct.
