Here's my first attempt at Corel Painter. I've been wanting to start using this program for years and never did anything with it. Norwell really inspired me to go for it! Thanks Jeff! I've got a bug to do more painterly stuff. This was a lot of fun.

Howdy folks... I've been gone fer a couple minutes but I just had to stop my madness long enough to say hi and throw a new piece at you all. I finally did the painting of my LADY LUCK drawing from a couple of months ago... I hope you all dig it.
I have no idea what the radiator is for but it looked really cool so I used it.

    Corrie - good looking oils
Clysdale - Killer black and white

Here is something not so HAMB oriented, but deal with it......

    I say it e v e r y Friday, but crap, where'd the week go?!

Surely some of ya'll have (helped) carve a block o' pine into a Derby Car for your young Boy Scouts. My wife Robin and I did that for 4 years with our twin boys Barron and Braeden. That's 8 cars. So on the 3rd year, I sketched 2 cars for the "Adults" drag race. Here's mine. I started with a mail-order plastic mobil home kit from NuCompMiniatures, did a bit o' finaglin and managed to wedge a chunk of the pine-wood derby kit's block of wood inside. We used the axles and wheels too. The 'car' has to weigh a certain amount and fit the track, that's why we drilled so many holes in the bottom. I printed all the curtains from my Mac/Epson, Rebel flag being V E R Y important down here in Jarja... This thing wobbled so bad on its maiden run I thought fore shore it wuz gonna flip and take out the competition hardeeharhar!

Kit came with the under-pinnin just like my first home in Ft. Rucker:

The roofin is just a piece of sandin paper:

The mobil home kit came with a bump-out or "lean-to" as us fokes call 'em:

I had planned on puttin a threaded insert in the center hole so to screw ona trophy base:

Next Week: My wife's derby car pun on Michael Schumacher! Stay tuned! Same Bat-Station...

  10. Hey Keith, Mark here, Love the mobile home. Here's the lotus 7 I built a few years back for the adult races. Unfortunately, none of the other dad's and moms understood they were to get involved so mine was the only one. (Duds.) Mine lost to all the scouts that year in an unofficial race off after competition ended. The following year, however, with no prep work, it beat all the kid's cars. That'll teach 'em. Funny how things vary from year to year.
The front fenders are pop-sickle sticks I soaked in water and bent on a buck
made with nails in a piece of pine. The rears are bobbed Revell, '30 Ford Coupe donors.
