This one works but not well...doesn't have enough travel. The brakes work...need a little adjusting. Still needs wiring, gauges, upper column mount, gl***, battery cover, work out some of the bugs, tweak this and that, and then do whatever else I have time for. 4 days until departure....but I'll be there.
Did you take off the doors so you could jump out if something went wrong? Seriously though, congrats on the first ride! It's always memorable.
Doors are overrated. And since mine aren't hinged (yet) and don't have latches (yet), they'll go on last.
Windshield is a separate bolt on piece. I had it off to make it easier getting to all the brake stuff under the dash. Was going to try and finish it...but thats not a high priority for now. After I get the gl*** in it, I'll bolt it back on.
WOOOHOOO! No better feeling than the first or second spin around the block in the hot rod. I went for my first mock-up spin just a couple of months ago. Absolutely wonderful experience. I feel like yelling "It's alive!" ala Frankenstein or something. You are driving your creation, and it looks pretty cool to me. PS-Don't you have a '64 or '65 olds A- body I noticed in one of your build posts...?
SA - WEEEET ! Major kudo's my man. That is gonna be a head-turner, for sure. Not a damn thing like that 'first-drive', is there? Well, maybe, BUT..... Congrats on a job well done - now just finish it.
i remember when you were talkin about building this, and had only started building a model. i cant believe how fast it was built and how cool looking this thing turned out to be. hopefully i'll be able to see it in person some day!
Doors? He don't need no stinkin' doors! Congrats on the build. Can't wait to see it at the show. P.S. That's cool that your neighborhood has that *****in' go kart track in the middle like that.
Looks and sounds great Eric bring that car by my shop and get a free SNO-BALL! See you in Austin if you don't.
i almost swung by today. i was killing some time and wondered if you would be working on it. i really like how this thing turned out. congrats!!!!
BIG congrats on the first ride. It's always memorable, with many more good days to come. Doors or no doors, it moves!!!!!!!! Sometimes, thats just good enough for now! See ya around.
Thanks! Yup, you can see it at the beginning and end of the second video inside the garage. I've been neglecting it a bit since I started working on this one. I haven't had it out in a month. There's some more info on the Olds on my website too. Thanks to everyone else too. If the lights worked and a clutch worked better, I'd drive it to work today. All in due time though
Dude that is soo awesome! Like everyone else said, theres nothing better than the first ride through the neighborhood! I cant wait to see that thing in person!
